The 2005 XYZZY Awards Ceremony was held at ifMUD on March 12th, in the Massive Auditorium. As in years past, the awards were presented by last year's winners.

Jason Devlin's game Vespers took four awards, including "Best Game." Beyond took two awards, with the remaining awards going to several games.

Best Use of Medium: Mystery House Possessed (Emily Short)
Best Individual PC: Wendy Little from Tough Beans (Sara Dee)
Best Individual NPC: The storyteller, from Whom the Telling Changed (Aaron A. Reed)
Best Individual Puzzle: Following the murderer, from Beyond (Mondi Confinanti: Roberto Grassi, Paolo Lucchesi, and Alessandro Peretti)
Best NPCs: Vespers (Jason Devlin)
Best Puzzles: Distress (Mike Snyder)
Best Setting: Vespers (Jason Devlin)
Best Story: Beyond (Mondi Confinanti: Roberto Grassi, Paolo Lucchesi, and Alessandro Peretti)
Best Writing: Vespers (Jason Devlin)
Best Game: Vespers (Jason Devlin)
