More belated news: Inform 7 Beta 4X60 was released for Mac OS, Windows, and Linux. Notable changes include the bundling of Jon Ingold's "Text Variations" extension into Inform 7 proper and the addition of an additional new manual, "The Inform Recipe Book". As of right now the Windows build of 4X60 isn't listed on the Inform site, but is available through this direct link.
By the bye, if you're using GNOME under Linux, you should try GNOME Inform 7 version 0.5.
